Packing Operator

We are looking for reliable and motivated Packing Staff to join our busy indoor shelf farm located in Hornby. This is a permanent part-time role within a fast-paced, supportive team environment.

Our Packing Operators are responsible for weighing, chilling, packing and preparing our mushrooms for dispatch.
Position Details:
- 2 x Permanent part-time positions
- Hornby location
- Training provided
- Shift length are dependent on daily production requirements - the team works until daily duties are completed
Current Shift Available:
- Saturday and Sunday only
Primary Duties:
- Working with various packing machinery and production lines
- Loading and unloading mushrooms from racks and pallets
- Entering harvester and tray data into the pre-pack computers and weighing trays accurately
- Handling mushrooms with great care
- Weighing, wrapping and making up orders for pre-packs and bags as required
- Assisting in general duties related to cleaning and hygiene of machines and surfaces
You will have:
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift 15kgs
- The ability to read and understand numbers/scales
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Previous packing/factory work experience is preferable
- Good practical skills to trouble shoot production line issues
- Mechanical skills and/or interest is preferable
- A good attendance record and high reliability
- A commitment to following health and safety / food safety regulations
- Reliable transport to and from work
- A strong work ethic and a good attitude
- New Zealand residency or a valid New Zealand work visa, and currently reside in New Zealand
Applicants for this role should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa and currently be residing in New Zealand. This role would not suit someone looking for short term employment (due to the training involved).
